Transcript summary: "What about fairway woods and hybrids off the deck and off the tee?" - I was asked by a subscriber
We're going to start off the deck, because that's where you'll likely use these clubs more often. But don’t worry—at the end, I’ll show you how to play them off the tee as well.
We’re going to focus on two key elements today:
Learning to hit down on these clubs like an iron.
Increasing your carry distance.
Let’s say you’re using a 5-hybrid, 4-hybrid, or 3-hybrid. At a minimum, your 5-hybrid should carry 150–160 yards. I reckon you can hit it even further. This is my 3-hybrid, and I can get this one close to or over 200 yards. Sounds crazy, but I think you can do this too.
This particular hybrid is a 19-degree, and the shot I’m about to hit is from 219 yards—yes, 219 yards to the flag.Follow these steps, and you’ll increase your distance too.
If you’re wondering,“Why did you pick Mark’s comment and not mine?”Well, as long as you’re subscribed and have turned on notifications, leave your golf question down in the comments—no matter how big or small. I’m planning next week’s content, and I want to help you play your best golf.
Also, if you're wondering why I’m still gaming this 6–7-year-old hybrid, it’s simple: I trust it. It’s one length, and I know exactly how it performs. Let me show you what I mean.
